Important Information about COVID-19 Vaccinations from the CPS Office of Student Health and Wellness

Back-to-school season is quickly approaching. Next school year, most students will be returning to in-person learning five days a week. Here are some things to keep in mind and on the calendar if your student is returning to classroom learning in the fall:

  • All Chicago residents 12 years and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Minors under the age of 18 will need a parent or legal guardian present for the vaccine to be given.
  • Schedule your student’s COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible and their annual wellness checkup to ensure they have all required immunizations. COVID-19 vaccines and other vaccines may now be administered on the same day.

You can learn more about COVID-19 vaccines or how to schedule an appointment at our COVID-19 vaccination website or find a COVID-19 vaccine near you at https://www.vaccines.gov/, text your zip code to 438829, or call 1-800-232-0233.
